About the position
SRC Inc. is seeking a Summer 2025 Firmware Engineer Intern to assist in FPGA and embedded firmware development. The intern will work closely with experienced engineers, implementing and testing HDL components for various applications, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
Responsibilities
• Implement FPGA solutions using VHDL/Verilog.

• Perform verification of firmware designs through simulation and hardware testing.
,
• Identify and resolve design issues or bottlenecks.
,
• Learn and apply best practices in programmable logic design and development.
,
• Learn and apply FPGA design principles including RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, prototyping, and timing analysis.
,
• Use Python, TCL, and other scripting languages to automate CI/CD workflows.
Requirements
• Two years of college with a degree focused in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

• A minimum grade point average of 3.3.

• Coursework and/or experience with digital design or embedded processing.
,
• Strong understanding of digital logic.
,
• Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog, C, and/or Python is preferred.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with excellent communication skills.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
