Our client is a top-tier provider of advanced long-distance communication systems and is currently looking for a seasoned RF Engineer to become an integral part of their development team. The Role:
The RF Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end development and enhancement of wireless communication platforms. This includes hands-on involvement in the design, testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of RF systems. You'll engage closely with engineering peers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-efficiency, cutting-edge wireless solutions that support a wide range of use cases, including underground mining communications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with engineering and product teams to define system-level requirements and specifications.
• Participate in the design and planning of system installations and develop testing methodologies.
• Analyze and improve RF system components to enhance functionality, reduce costs, and increase energy efficiency.
• Design and optimize wireless networks across LTE, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies, focusing on RF performance and architecture.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the development cycle.
• Provide hands-on support in assembling and debugging prototype wireless systems.
• Perform RF signal measurements and in-lab evaluations.
• Develop domain knowledge in mining communications to tailor technology to customer needs.
• Assist with research and development efforts to create and refine RF and digital system designs.
• Contribute to engineering documentation, project proposals, and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline; a minimum of five years of related industry experience is highly desirable.
• Practical expertise in cellular network technologies (LTE, 3G, 4G, 5G), with a focus on RF design and network performance tuning.
• Strong background in wireless and field telecommunications, including site deployment and RF link planning.
• Experience in antenna systems, link budgeting, RF signal analysis, and related test procedures.
• Skilled in RF modeling and coverage prediction using CAD tools.
• Capable of delivering product presentations and technical instruction to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as MySQL, TCP/IP, and Windows 10/11 is advantageous.
• Familiarity with reading schematics, troubleshooting PCBs, and creating PCB layouts is a plus.
