Lead Electrical Systems Engineer – Reusable Space Platforms | Denver, CO | Onsite
If you're passionate about pioneering sustainable access to space and want to work on something that genuinely moves the industry forward, this is for you.
A stealth-mode space startup based in Denver is developing the first reusable satellite platform with controlled return capability – shifting space from a one-way mission to a two-way highway for innovation.
They’re now looking for a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join their founding engineering team. You’ll lead the design of spacecraft power systems, from architecture to embedded firmware – supporting hardware design, vendor integration, and radiation-tolerant builds that will fly repeatedly.
What You'll Be Working On:
• Leading power and avionics architecture for reusable spacecraft
• Developing embedded firmware for flight-critical power systems
• Designing and qualifying radiation-tolerant and space-rated PCBs
• Collaborating with mechanical and thermal teams on systems integration
• Supporting technical hiring as the team grows
What They're Looking For:
• 8+ years' experience in spacecraft electronics and power systems
• Deep understanding of embedded systems (both hardware + firmware)
• Background in qualifying and flying space-rated electronics
• Strong command of high-reliability PCBA design and manufacturing
• A track record of operating in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
Bonus Points For:
• MS in Electrical Engineering
• FPGA or digital design experience
• Familiarity with SMC-S-016 or EEE-INST-002 standards
Location: Denver, CO – full-time onsite with flexibility as needed
This is a rare chance to join a well-funded founding team reshaping how humanity builds, launches, and retrieves spacecraft.
