The Electrical Engineering Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving manufacturing processes associated with high-voltage power supplies (HVPS) and electronic assemblies. This position serves as a key technical resource supporting the transition of products from development and prototype phases into production.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel to ensure products meet performance, quality, reliability, and delivery requirements while driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Manufacturing processes include:
- Through-hole and surface-mount PCB assembly
- Custom transformer winding
- Potting and encapsulation processes
- Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
- X-ray inspection and analysis
- Electrical testing and validation
Manufacturing Engineering Leadership
- Lead efforts to transition products from prototype development into full-scale production.
- Develop, validate, and implement manufacturing processes and work instructions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and cost reduction.
- Support production teams by resolving manufacturing and process-related issues.
Technical Problem Solving
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical and manufacturing issues.
- Troubleshoot and debug analog and digital electronic systems.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support failure analysis and reliability investigations.
Product and Process Development
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to improve manufacturability and product reliability.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities.
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
- Participate in design reviews and manufacturing readiness assessments.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including manufacturing procedures, test plans, process validations, and engineering change records.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and manufacturing standards.
- Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electronics manufacturing or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience with high-voltage power supplies, power electronics, or related electronic products strongly preferred.
- Prior experience leading projects, process improvements, or technical teams is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise in electronic circuit design, development, and troubleshooting.
- Experience using schematic capture and simulation tools such as OrCAD, PSpice, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Knowledge of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and X-ray inspection systems.
- Experience with analog and digital electronics.
- Understanding of signal processing, power supplies, and PID control systems.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
