Compensation: $58/hour, 24-month contract
Bring your electrical commissioning expertise to a power innovation team, leading testing, verification, and startup of power generation and energy systems from pre-commissioning through turnover.
What You'll Own:
- Lead and support commissioning activities on switchgear, transformers, generators, protection relays, and control systems
- Execute electrical testing including insulation resistance, hi-pot, relay testing, and functional verification
- Validate power system studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash) against as-built conditions before energization
- Coordinate and participate in FAT, SAT, PSSR, and RFSU processes
- Develop and maintain commissioning documentation, including ITRs, test records, redlines, and turnover packages
- Work directly in the field alongside Project Management, Construction, Controls, and Operations teams to resolve issues during startup
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited), or a Bachelor's in Engineering Technology with an active P.E. license
- 4+ years of electrical engineering experience in power generation, industrial facilities, utilities, data centers, or similar environments
- Hands-on commissioning and startup experience with electrical power systems
- Strong knowledge of switchgear, transformers, generators, MV/LV distribution systems, and protection relays
- Proficiency with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or MATLAB
- Experience with electrical test equipment such as Omicron, Doble, and Megger
Nice to Have:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or actively pursuing licensure
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or data center electrical infrastructure
- Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems and electrical integration
If you want to see major energy infrastructure come online and lead the testing that gets it there safely, this is a strong long-term fit.
