$121,000 - $150,000 USD yearly

Location: San Diego, CA (On-site)

Compensation: $121,000-$150,000/year (higher considered for exceptionally qualified candidates)

Design the electronics that power motion control for subsea equipment, from brushless motor drivers to the propulsion systems and actuators that keep it all moving underwater.

What You'll Own:

- Design and implement electrical systems for subsea equipment, including thruster motors, actuators, and sensors

- Design and develop brushless motor drivers and supporting circuitry

- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM creation, and prototype testing

- Support electromechanical devices including rotary/linear actuators, hydraulic pumps, and propulsion thrusters

- Lead or participate in customer technical discussions, design reviews, and project updates

- Serve as Project Engineer on custom projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and technical success

What You'll Bring:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

- 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

- Strong knowledge of three-phase AC/DC motors and motor control techniques, preferably brushless motors

- Experience with power stage design, including gate drive circuits, IGBTs, and MOSFETs

- Understanding of microcontroller circuit design and embedded systems (PWM, ADCs, DACs, serial communication)

- Hands-on lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, PCB testing equipment)

Nice to Have:

- Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture

- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, BOM creation, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

If you want to design the electronics that keep subsea systems moving, this is a rare chance to own hardware end to end.
