Transmission Engineer – Power Delivery, PLS-CADD

• REMOTE; can be based anywhere in the US!
Compensation:
• Engineer III – $110-125K, DOE + bonus (without P.E. or EIT and 5+ years of experience)
• Engineer IV+ – $130-145K, DOE + bonus (WITH P.E. and 8-10+ years of experience)
Summary:
The Transmission Engineer is pivotal in the engineering, design, and analysis of transmission lines, as well as the development of comprehensive project packages. Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for the engineering and design of high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
• Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation and assembly drawings.
• Serve as a senior technical expert, overseeing the entire lifecycle of transmission line projects.
• Conducting detailed analysis to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
• Provide field support during construction.
Qualifications include, but not limited to:
• B.S. in Engineering from ABET accredited program
• 5-8+ years of relevant Engineering experience in the Power Delivery industry
• P.E. OR EIT required, or able to obtain within 6 months
• Membership and participation with professional organizations encouraged (e.g. ASCE, IEEE, SEI)
Experience:
• Able to run complex engineering calculations applicable to discipline.
• Understanding of survey data and LiDAR
• Advanced understanding of electrical equipment for substations, transmission and distribution projects including switchgear, transformers, instrument transformers and battery systems.
• Transmission Line Design: Proficiency in designing transmission line systems, including tower and pole structures, conductors, insulators, and foundations.
• Advanced ability to develop complex and detailed electrical one-lines, three-lines, schematics, and connection diagrams.
Software Skills:
• **PLS CADD Suite (PLS CADD, Pole wood/steel/concrete, Caisson, Tower and Grid) required
• AutoCAD
• GIS Software
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Foundation Design Software (MFAD, LPILE)
