Responsibilities
• Execute substation physical projects
• Perform quality control checks on substation physical design projects
• Read and design substation physical drawings such as one-line, three-line, plan-section, foundation, and grounding drawings
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical projects
• Attend site visits at customer locations
• Collaborate with a design team of engineers, designers, and CAD technicians to implement designs according to client standards
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related degree
• Mid-Level: 2+ years of related substation physical design experience
• Senior-Level: 4+ years of related substation physical design experience
• Lead-Level: 8+ years of related substation physical design experience
• Experience with grounding studies and lightning protection
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
• High level of computer competency
• Willingness to travel to project/client sites
Nice-to-haves
• US Citizen able to pass a DOE Background check
• Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) certification
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Working knowledge of protection and control design
• Experience with bus calculation
• Experience with WinIGS or CDEGS
• Master's degree in a related field
