About This Opportunity

We're seeking a talented Substation Engineer with expertise in physical substation design to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the power delivery industry, specifically in electrical engineering related to utility scale substation design.
Main Responsibilities
• Perform specific portions of broader assignments under moderate supervision
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures
• Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and simple tests
• Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered
• Identify discrepancies in results
• Provide guidance to entry-level engineers
• Deliver work within agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency
• Experience with high-voltage substation design
• EIT Certification
• Proficient use of AutoCAD and/or Bentley Microstation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years
• Knowledge of construction practices and constructability
• Experience with proposal writing and project estimating
• Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC)
• Working knowledge of MS Office and technical writing skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and check quality of own and others' work
