About Us

At moss.ag, we build robots to go where humans won't, digitizing the physical outdoor world to make it machine-readable. Starting with tree farms β€” where a single field holds millions of plants no human has ever fully inventoried. 🌲🀯🌳

We’re a small team of practical engineers with a long-term vision. We focus on real, messy, on-the-ground problems today, while working toward a future where autonomous field robots make harsh outdoor jobs easier and safer.Β

If our mission aligns with how you work and think, we’d love to learn more about you!

The Role

Join us as an Electrical Engineering Intern on a fast-moving team of seven. In this high-ownership role, you'll own the design and development of our next-generation sensor systems, from PCB design and circuit architecture to integrating autonomous vehicle hardware like LiDARs, cameras, GPS, and IMUs into production-ready sensor kits deployed to paying customers worldwide.

Work across the full hardware development cycle: prototyping new designs, bringing up and debugging circuits, writing firmware, collaborating with mechanical engineering on enclosures and mounting solutions, managing component sourcing and manufacturing partnerships, and field testing hardware with customers in real-world deployments.

We're looking for both a full time founding engineer, and intern candidates for co-ops, summer, and/or part-time roles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Impressive real-world projects beyond the classroom
  • Strong systems architecture capability (able to define full electrical stack from power input to compute and sensors)
  • Deep PCB design experience (schematics, high-speed routing, power integrity, grounding strategy)
  • Experience designing power systems (DC-DC regulation, battery integration, power budgeting, protection, EMI considerations)
  • Experience with high-speed and mixed-signal design (USB, Ethernet, MIPI/CSI, CAN, UART, SPI, I2C)
  • Comfortable making first-principles engineering trade-offs, even with partial information
  • Firmware proficiency (C/C++) for board bring-up, microcontrollers, and peripheral integration
  • Strong experience integrating autonomous system hardware (LiDAR, cameras, GPS, IMUs, Jetson or similar compute platforms)
  • Experience working with manufacturers (DFM reviews, contract manufacturers, sourcing, production test strategy)

What You'll Do

  • Own electrical architecture decisions, component selection, and PCB layout
  • Design and iterate on sensor integrated systems from concept to production
  • Collaborate with mechanical, perception and robotics teams to optimize hardware-software integration
  • Manage relationships with manufacturing partners and component suppliers
  • Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and partners
