Tired of projects that barely challenge you? Step into complex HV engineering work where your expertise will genuinely shape critical infrastructure.
Is this you?
You are a technically strong Electrical Engineer who thrives in complex, high-pressure environments where precision and leadership matter. Known for your analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, you enjoy taking ownership of projects while guiding junior engineers and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. You are detail orientated, solutions driven and confident working independently across fast-moving engineering programmes.
What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
You’ll lead the design and delivery of high voltage electrical engineering projects across substations, HV reticulation, transmission and distribution systems. From concept design through to commissioning, you’ll review technical documentation, ensure compliance with industry regulations and provide valuable site support during inspections, testing and handovers. You’ll enjoy this role because it offers real technical depth, the opportunity to influence major infrastructure projects and the chance to mentor upcoming engineers while working on varied, high-impact workstreams.
Where you’ll be doing it
You’ll join a respected engineering and project delivery environment known for tackling technically demanding projects across infrastructure, energy and industrial sectors. The culture promotes collaboration, safety, innovation and continuous improvement, while placing strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusive leadership.
What you’ll need
A BTech, BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering is essential, with professional ECSA registration highly advantageous. You should bring at least 7–10 years’ HV engineering experience, including exposure to substations, transmission and distribution networks, switching stations and protection systems. Strong knowledge of Eskom standards, Grid Code, IEC, SANS and OHSA regulations is important, along with proven site-based construction and commissioning experience.
What you’ll get
Along with a competitive salary, you’ll gain exposure to complex engineering projects, leadership responsibility and the opportunity to work within a highly professional and technically advanced environment that values growth, innovation and employee wellbeing.
