Provide technical leadership throughout the entire product lifecycle, from requirements definition and system architecture through qualification, production, and long-term sustainment.
Lead the design, analysis, simulation, verification, and integration of innovative analog and digital hardware solutions for mission-critical, harsh-environment applications.
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans, and verification reports.
Present technical concepts, designs, and results at internal and customer design reviews.
Evaluate and optimize complex engineering tradeoffs involving performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, schedule, and risk.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues and support product improvements.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action support for both new and legacy products.
Mentor and develop engineering talent, contribute to technical proposals and cost estimates, and participate in technical recruiting and hiring activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in analog and digital circuit design, including A/D conversion, processors/microcontrollers, digital I/O, and communication interfaces.
Strong expertise in power electronics and power conversion technologies, including MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN devices.
Extensive experience designing DC/DC converters and working with military and aerospace standards, including MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, DO-160, and MIL-STD-461.
Deep knowledge of electrical and environmental analysis methods, including thermal analysis, electrical stress analysis, worst-case analysis, tolerance analysis, aging analysis, FMEA, EMI/EMC, and radiation effects (SEU and TID).
Proven experience with printed wiring board (PWB) layout for high-power, high-voltage, and EMI-compliant applications.
Strong understanding of communication protocols including CAN, RS-232/422/485, SPI, JTAG, PCI/PCIe, and 1G/10G Ethernet.
Experience with motor control systems, control theory, Z-domain analysis, Clarke and Park transforms, and sensor interfaces such as LVDTs, resolvers, and encoders.
Proficiency with industry-standard CAD and simulation tools, including LTspice, PSpice, OrCAD, Allegro, MATLAB, and Simulink.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary technical efforts.
