Duties & Responsibilities

Are you a seasoned Electrical Engineer with a strong passion for medium and low voltage installations? Do you excel in designing, optimizing, and implementing electrical systems in fast-paced, technically demanding environments? Then this opportunity is for you! As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will engage in a variety of complex projects, from conceptual design through to implementation and commissioning. In this essential role, you will be a key contributor in delivering technical solutions that align with customer expectations. You will lead the development and execution of electrical systems while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Design and develop production, transmission and distribution of energy where we help our customers with energy-efficient and sustainable solutions
  • Design and develop safety and grounding systems
  • Selecting electrical components for various applications within various industries such as transformers, generators, switchboards, distribution boards, switchgear, frequency converters, motors and lighting
  • Analyze complex problems within distribution and control systems and work with the team to develop flexible solutions
  • Provide support on small to medium sized projects from concept to commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with ATEX standards in hazardous areas
  • Work with AutoCAD and E-Plan or similar drawing packages (experience or knowledge is required)
  • Using grid analysis software such as E-TAP, Caneco, Intelec, Simaris or EcoDial (experience with at least one software package is required)
  • Making selectivity, short circuit, concurrency and cable calculations
  • Preparing man-hour budgets, customer proposals and quotes
  • Working with customers during the conceptual design phase to understand their needs understand and translate into practical solutions
  • Sharing knowledge and acting as a mentor to younger engineers to guide them in their development and growth

Desired Experience & Qualification

You are an articulate and analytical team player who thrives in large organizational environments and brings experience in managing small to medium-sized projects.

Additionally, you possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer in heavy industry, with specific focus on the design, management, and optimization of high and low voltage systems, energy management, and industrial plants
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with the application of standards and guidelines for medium and low voltage systems in industrial environments, such as NEN1010, AREI, IEC60364 and NEN3840
  • Experience of working in demanding environments, such as petrochemical plants, water treatment systems or production environments, where safety, reliability and efficiency are key
