ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for leading the design, development, and lifecycle ownership of advanced electronic systems spanning digital imaging platforms, night vision products, and ruggedized portable embedded devices. The Senior Electrical Engineer needs to work with high-speed digital, precision analog, mixed signal, and low noise power electronics domains, bridging hardware, embedded systems, and FPGA technologies. Key contributions include enhancing current imaging and weapon sight systems, driving new product development, and assuming ownership of mission critical internal hardware projects.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Lead end to end hardware design, including schematics, component selection, simulation, analysis, documentation, and multi layer PCB layout.
- Design high speed digital and low noise analog circuits for imaging systems, embedded processors, and portable hardware
- Develop compact, high density PCBAs with strict mechanical, thermal, and EMI/EMC constraints.
- Integrate NXP i.MX, Qualcomm, Kinetis processors and power management ICs, including hardware software co design.
- Design battery powered systems including Li ion/LFP packs, BMS architecture, DC DC converters with low noise switching and linear regulators.
- Perform FPGA bring up, simulation, and verification (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Conduct board bring up, validation, and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal analysis tools, and high speed measurement instruments.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers for packaging, enclosure fitment, thermal strategies, and ruggedized system performance.
- Ensure manufacturability and reliability through DFM analysis and coordination with PCBA vendors and component suppliers.
- Maintain and improve hardware throughout the full product lifecycle.
- Perform technical audits and assume full ownership of existing hardware projects.
- Produce professional grade documentation, revision-controlled schematics, manuals, and engineering reports.
