Location: Tampa, FL. Compensation: $100,000 to $115,000. Full-time, senior individual contributor / technical lead.
Lead the design and development of complex power electronics and power management systems, from concept through production, in a regulated engineering environment.
What You'll Own
- Design AC/DC and DC/DC switch-mode power supplies at medium and low voltage
- Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and circuit topologies with a focus on design for manufacturability
- Specify and select components for power applications based on performance, reliability, and cost
- Drive standardization, reliability, maintainability, and cost-reduction across hardware designs
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and MIL-standard requirements
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead cross-functional engineering collaboration
What You'll Bring
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physical Sciences, plus 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Hands-on design of AC/DC power supplies, inverters, UPS systems, and power distribution to the component level
- Prior UPS (Uninterruptible Power Systems) experience (required)
- Strong schematic and PCB design skills with Altium and/or PCAD
- Expertise in EMI/RFI attenuation, EMI/EMC compliance, and MIL-standard design
- Experience in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality environments
Nice to Have
- Thermal management and environmental design experience (temperature, humidity, shock, vibration)
- Experience developing test procedures and test fixtures
- Background in defense, aerospace, or afloat/ground/airborne MIL-standard environments
