Who You Are

You are a team player with a passion for electronics. You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy hands-on work, and love tackling unsolved problems. Grounded in knowledge of engineering principles but curious enough to experiment and try new things, you seek innovative solutions and are eager to bring them to life. You're collaborative, open to challenges from teammates, and take pride in your contributions. Most importantly, you're excited to be part of a collaborative team making a real-world impact together.

The Role

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Lead the architecture and development of embedded electronic systems for robotic platforms, including sensor integration, power management, motor control, and communication subsystems.

· Design, develop, and review mixed-signal PCBAs using tools like Altium Designer.

· Collaborate with firmware and software teams to define hardware interfaces and ensure seamless system integration.

· Own the selection, validation, and qualification of electronic components, ensuring performance, cost, and reliability tradeoffs are well-balanced.

· Guide design for manufacturability (DFM), testing (DFT), and environmental robustness (EMI/EMC, thermal, ingress).

· Drive hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation in both lab and field environments.

· Serve as a mentor and technical leader to junior engineers and contractors.

· Interface with supply chain partners and manufacturing vendors to scale production.

What You Bring

We require the following qualifications:

· B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

· 10+ years of hands-on experience designing embedded electronics systems for robotics, industrial automation, or mission-critical applications.

· Proven expertise in:

o Embedded processor and microcontroller systems (ARM Cortex-M, STM32, etc.)

o Mixed-signal circuit design and PCB layout

o Sensor interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC/DAC)

o Power systems: DC/DC converters, battery management, motor drivers

o High-reliability and low-noise design practices

· Experience with full hardware product lifecycle — from concept to production.

· Strong debugging and validation skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.

We encourage experience and knowledge in the following areas:

· Experience designing electronics for mobile robots or drones (e.g., IMUs, motor controllers, encoders).

· Familiarity with ROS-based systems and real-time firmware development.

· Knowledge of safety standards, environmental testing (IP ratings, thermal, vibration), and regulatory compliance (FCC, CE).

· Experience in industrial or ruggedized product development.

· Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams or startup environments.
