About the Role:

We are looking for a Principal Power Electronics Engineer [MUST Be a U.S. Citizens only with Active and Current Top Secret SSBI/SCI] to lead the design, development, and testing of advanced power system architectures for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing miniature and high-performance power solutions including DC/DC converters, radiation-hardened systems, battery management circuitry, and motor controllers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and test innovative power system architectures.
• Lead development of miniature power conversion, distributed power systems, radiation-hardened designs, and battery/motor control circuitry.
• Optimize designs for size, weight, and power (SWaP).
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex power electronics architectures.
• Conduct circuit simulation (SPICE or equivalent) and system modeling (MATLAB, Simulink).
• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout for new products.
• Analyze and test hardware to ensure conformance to technical specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote design best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support proposal/business development activities.
• Manage technical risks and ensure project timelines and requirements are met.

Required Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship with an active and current Top Secret SSBI/SCI clearance (Non-negotiable).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• 7–20 years of experience in Power Systems or Power Electronics Engineering.
• Proven expertise in DC/DC power conversion, battery management systems, motor controllers, and EMC design.
• Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, SPICE simulation, and MATLAB/Simulink modeling.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to document complex designs and procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership in solving complex design challenges and managing multidisciplinary projects.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with radiation-hardened electronics and aerospace-grade designs.
• Familiarity with system-level grounding/shielding.
• Background in proposal writing and customer-facing technical presentations.
