Project/system level responsibilities on sales orders including design per custom specifications, integration of new design into existing products, coordination of all design efforts with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and on to manufacturing, test, and installation/start-up.

Evaluate high voltage power supplies and electron beam accelerator components for improved reliability andcost.

Will be involved in the overall design of new generation electron beam accelerators
including unbundling technical elements of electron beam design and ongoing support.

System voltage ranges up to 300 kV and power level up to 500 kW.

Responsibilities also include standard engineering functions such as: processing ECRs and ECNs, providing support to Field Service and manufacturing as well as assisting and supporting new R&D efforts. Guide and counsel engineers, designers or technicians, as necessary.

SUPERVISION

Receives: Reports to Vice President, Engineering.

Gives: None. Provides guidance and direction to Electrical Engineers and Designers in Electrical Engineering.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Advanced degrees in High Voltage Engineering/Physics or as a minimum bachelor’s degree in EE or Physics.

Experience: Six to ten years of experience in addition to a bachelor’s degree in high voltage and solid state power supply design and design of state-of-the-art electrical and electronic controls for electron beam systems. Knowledge of power and electronic component specification, design and packaging according to the national and international industrial standards. Familiarity of pneumatic, hydraulic and high vacuum system controls, PLC based control systems including digital and analog interface. Experience with Radiation Physics and Electron Beam Optics is desirable.

Other Abilities: Manage multiple projects. Must have ability to effectively communicate and coordinate design efforts with Applications, Mechanical and Software engineers as well as Production Control, Manufacturing, Test and Installation personnel.

Training: Will maintain up-to-date knowledge of E-Beam physics and related technology.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
