As a Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.
• Assist in developing product specifications, develop and analyze functional tests.
• Assist with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.
• Provide power engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.
• Assist in innovating power system protection solutions.
• Author technical papers to present at technical meetings and conferences.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
This job might be for you if:
• You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• You have 5+ years' experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies.
• You have experience working in industrial and distribution power systems, and the ability to communicate those experiences.
• You have working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility or industrial plant.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of SEL products
• Experience in power system modeling using EMTP

Pay Range Data:
Lead Power Engineer $79,400 - $124,000
Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
