Responsibilities:
- Prepare concept/basic designs for MV distribution network designs including the sizing and selection of equipment and/or cables.
- Assist engineers with the planning and detail design of MV and HV power distribution infrastructure.
- Assist Senior engineers to prepare project design documentation, BOQ’s, technical specifications, concept and/or detail design layouts and detail design packages that comply with applicable local, international and clientspecifications and standards.
- Assist the drafting office to produce design layouts, SLD and other drawings as required.
- Engage OEM’s and suppliers on technical data, specifications and designs to ensure that they meet the client’s specifications and required standards.
- Coordinate and participate in the review of contractor or third-party designs under the guidance of Senior engineers.
- Coordinate and assist with effecting design changes, modify design drawings and documents accordingly.
- Attend and actively participate in OEM quality monitoring, FAT and SAT planning and execution.
- Provide on-site engineering support during construction.
- Coordinate and support Senior engineers with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Attend and contribute to site and project technical meetings as necessary.
- Conduct site assessments and audits.
- Assist in the preparation of expressions of interests (EOIs), tenders and request for quotations.

- Participate in knowledge sharing and company initiatives.

BSc Eng, BEng degree in Electrical Engineering
- 1 - 2 years of design and/or project engineering experience in power distribution systems – MV switchgear, MV cables, substations and/or primary plant equipment OR good working understanding of primary plant equipment technology, specification, sizing and selection
- Interpretation of MV single line diagrams
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation or equivalent drafting software
- Experience within a consulting or EPC or Eskom environment is an advantage
- Exposure to Renewable Energy technologies such as PV, Wind and BESS is an advantage
- Proficient with Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word and Power Point
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Good technical report writing skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and be a team-playerEager to learn and grow
