Introduction

Lexdan Select is assisting a company in the Engineering Consultancy space with there search for a Junior Electrical Engineer based in Johannesburg, South Africa 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

We are seeking motivated Junior to Intermediate Engineers to join our growing team, supporting both Protection & Control and SCADA/Automation projects across power and renewable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • design reviews, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and project meetingsParticipate in
  • Collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, and drafting teams on technical designs and drawings
  • Prepare design documentation, schematics, BOQs, and technical specifications
  • Perform relay/SCADA configuration, testing, commissioning, and on-site support
  • Assist with MV/HV infrastructure design, including automation and communication networks
  • Support design of substation Protection & Control systems and/or SCADA/SAS solutions

Desired Experience & Qualification

 

Requirements

  • BSc Eng / BEng in Electrical Engineering
  • 2–5 years’ experience in either:
    • Substation Protection & Control (relays, schematics) OR
    • SCADA / Substation Automation Systems (SAS), networking & protocols
  • Practical exposure to configuration, testing, and commissioning on site
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar drafting tools
  • Consulting, EPC, or OEM background advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to travel
