The Senior Electronics Engineer – RF provides electronics engineering services to assist Hydrix in creating exceptional technical solutions that drive success for our customers. The Senior Electronics Engineer - RF demonstrates pragmatic problem-solving skills, a high degree of technical competence, and sound judgement to solve complex issues arising from own work and that of others.
The primary purpose of this position is to drive the specification, design, architecture and implementation of complex product development projects with particular emphasis on the development of RF technologies.
Description
nderstand what the client wants, and needs, to achieve their objectives. Be comfortable operating as the client technical interface.
Drive the technical delivery of projects based on the work described in the Proposal. Lead the Electronics function on projects.
Architect complex embedded Electronics in liaison with other functional groups (systems, firmware, programmable logic, mechanical, etc.)
Contribute to RF-enabled product development, including RF PCB design with on-board signal processing (e.g. filters/matching/amplifiers/mixers/PLLs etc.). Relevant experience implementing DirectRF SoC designs is highly regarded. Board level antenna design and simulation, dielectric selection including standard and exotics.
RF test protocol and execution and reporting using VNAs, spectrum analysers, etc.
RF modelling in Ansys SiWave, Ansys HFSS, CST Studio or similar simulation tools.
Preparation for, and participation in low level technical reviews and Design Reviews.
Development of EE documentation using, including Specifications, Design Documentation and Plans.
Assist in the preparation of quotations, proposals, tender responses and similar documents as directed.
Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers.
Skills And Experiences
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with one of the following disciplines:
o Electronic Engineering
o Electrical Engineering
Advanced experience with Altium Designer. Concord Pro experience desirable.
8+ years’ experience in one or more engineering disciplines
Exposure to RF and embedded systems development is highly desirable, including familiarity with DirectRF SoC platforms, VPX standards, MIL-STDs.
Experience working in an Engineering product design focused organisation.
This is a client facing role so solid interpersonal skills is a must.
The following is considered advantageous:
Experience with device safety standards (IEC61010, IEC60601, etc.)
