In this role, you will support the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power systems and infrastructure. You'll work under the mentorship of seasoned engineers on crucial projects that involve the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical power for mission-critical operations across government, commercial, and institutional facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing and planning electrical power distribution systems, including medium- and low-voltage systems.
• Conduct electrical system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and grounding analysis using software tools like ETAP, SKM Power Tools, CYME, or PSCAD.
• Contribute to creating single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and technical specifications for electrical equipment.
• Engage in field inspections and equipment testing to verify electrical system performance and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Evaluate and select electrical components such as transformers, switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and protective relays.
• Support projects involving SCADA systems, substation design, or renewable energy integration when applicable.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including NEC, IEEE, and NESC.
• Use AutoCAD or Revit MEP to prepare and amend design drawings.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
• TS/SCI with Poly Clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience (or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of experience).
• Familiarity with engineering standards, theories, concepts, and techniques relevant to electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience with circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting for analog and digital systems.
• Knowledge of tools and techniques used in electrical system development, including hardware and electronic design.
• Ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks and contribute to larger project efforts.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to team members and stakeholders.
• Understanding of control/test equipment and electrical systems in applications such as communications, radar, and computing.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience in the following technical areas:
• Analog Design - Designing and optimizing circuit systems based on continuous signals.
• Digital Signal Processing (DSP) - Implementing filtering, analysis, and compression algorithms.
• Electrical Construction - Ensuring safe installation of power and electrical systems under regulations.
• Electronic Design - Developing efficient, reliable systems and components.
• Hardware Design - Validating physical electronic components.
• Electrical Systems - Experience in projects related to power generation, transmission, or distribution.
• Radio Frequency (RF) - Designing and testing RF circuitry for wireless communication.
• VHDL - Designing and simulating digital systems using hardware description languages.
• Python - Using programming for test automation, data analysis, or embedded applications.
• Aptitude for problem-solving and resolving complex technical issues.
• Experience in product development from concept through implementation.
• Project management experience or the capability to coordinate multiple technical tasks across teams.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
