Join Schneider Electric as an ELE Hardware Engineer Co-Op in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to gain hands-on experience in electronics HW design and simulation.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:
• Work with HW lead to develop and analyze solutions and perform competitive analysis.
• Present and communicate project summaries to internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate the generation of prototypes for testing.
• Implement verification and validation test plans including test method and acceptance criteria.
• Interpret test results and synthesize data into technical communication for effective presentation.
• Work with the product definition file: Schematic Capture, PCB & PCBA creation, BOM creation, and development of other specifications.
• Gain experience developing, debugging, analyzing, and root cause analysis for HW and embedded systems.
• Contribute to the development of user documentation such as instruction bulletins, safety labels, and product markings.

About You:

Candidates should have:
• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; Master’s or PhD is a plus.
• Understanding of electronic circuits and circuit design.
• Basic understanding of EMC.
• Ability to discuss a circuit design project and articulate responsibilities and role.
• Highly creative and inquisitive for design and system optimization.
• Capable with electronics lab equipment for test and debug.
• Strong understanding of design for test and reliability in safety products.
• Use of statistical techniques for analyzing empirical data.
• Thermal modeling and understanding of magnetics desirable.
• Ability to work full-time in Cedar Rapids for 6 months starting January 2026.
