We are seeking experienced Electrical Hardware Engineers to join a growing engineering team delivering automated material handling, distribution, and sortation solutions. This is a direct hire, permanent placement opportunity offering long-term career stability within a dynamic, project-driven organization.
The Electrical Hardware Engineer is responsible for designing the electrical infrastructure that enables complex automation systems to function reliably and safely. Core areas of focus include control panel design, power distribution, wiring schematics, and communication network layout — from initial concept through field installation and commissioning.
Candidates who have held titles such as Electrical Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, Electrical Project Engineer, or Controls Systems Engineer at other organizations are encouraged to apply if their background aligns with electrical hardware design.
● Design electrical systems for automated material handling and sortation projects from concept through installation
● Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control panel layout drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
● Design and specify control panel configurations, including enclosure sizing, component selection, and internal layout
● Perform motor sizing and power calculations to support mechanical and controls integration
● Define cable routing, cable type selection, and point-to-point wiring documentation
● Design communication and network layouts for distributed automation systems
● Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical hardware components
● Create and maintain installation guidance documentation for field teams
● Collaborate with controls engineers, project managers, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated system design
● Support on-site installation verification and commissioning activities as needed
● Demonstrated experience in electrical system design and hardware engineering in an industrial or automation context
● Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical for schematic and panel layout development
● Strong working knowledge of electrical schematic design, panel layout, and power distribution
● Experience with motor sizing, power calculations, and electrical load analysis
● Ability to develop point-to-point wiring documentation and cable routing plans
● Familiarity with industrial communication and network architectures
● Understanding of BOM development and material specification processes
● Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
● 3–8 years of electrical hardware or electrical design engineering experience in automation, material handling, industrial systems, or similar environments
● Background in distribution center (DC) operations, parcel sortation, conveyor systems, or intralogistics automation is strongly preferred
● Experience supporting field installation and commissioning from an electrical design perspective
● Familiarity with NEC codes, UL standards, or other relevant electrical compliance and safety requirements
