MAURY MICROWAVE JOB DESCRIPTION                                                  Date:  9/16/2026

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Intern

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Engineering

Reports to (Title): Engineering Manager

Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time limited-term internship, approximately 3 months (semester TBD)

Brief Summary of Position:

Support the engineering teams responsible for the development and sustainment of Maury's RF/microwave instrumentation for power measurement, signal sources, and analyzers. Work alongside senior RF engineers to gain hands-on engineering experience across the product development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing, documentation, and sustaining engineering.

Essential Functions of the Position:

Assist the development team with RF/microwave circuit design, prototyping, and testing tasks for the Power Measurements product line under the guidance of senior engineers.

Support sustaining engineering efforts for the RF Power and Signal Sources product lines, including component research and design updates.

Perform hands-on lab work — bench testing, data collection, and measurement — and help evaluate results against design requirements.

Help investigate design challenges and trade-offs, and document findings clearly for the team.

Communicate progress and findings across the team to support timely, compliant product development.

Maintain traceable documentation of assigned work in compliance with quality procedures.

Assist in researching new product ideas, including gathering specifications and rough cost/timeline estimates, under mentorship.

Support customer-facing engineering activities as needed, such as preparing materials for product demonstrations or troubleshooting under supervision.

Take on additional project tasks as assigned, with increasing independence as the internship progresses.

Requirements (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.)

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, or a related discipline.

Relevant coursework or project experience in RF/microwave circuits, electromagnetics, or instrumentation preferred.

Exposure to RF test equipment (power meters, synthesizers, VNAs, spectrum analyzers) is a plus but not required — willingness to learn hands-on is essential.

Basic proficiency with tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar is a plus.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Comfortable working in a lab/production environment following safety procedures.
