Introduction

Our client, a well-established company within the electrical engineering and switchboard manufacturing industry, is looking for a motivated and technically strong Electrical Engineer to join their team.

The successful candidate will be involved in electrical circuit design, project costing, FAT testing, BOM creation, and supporting manufacturing operations within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design electrical circuits and control systems
  • Prepare and update technical drawings using CAD software
  • Assist with project costing and component selection
  • Compile and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Liaise with clients during FAT testing and project execution
  • Support production and manufacturing teams with technical queries
  • Assist with PLC programming and troubleshooting where required
  • Ensure projects are completed according to technical and quality standards
  • Work closely with engineering and production departments to ensure smooth project delivery

Desired Experience & Qualification

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BTech or BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience within the electrical switchboard manufacturing industry
  • Strong electrical circuit design experience
  • CAD proficiency essential
  • PLC programming experience advantageous
  • Experience with FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) with clients
  • Understanding of material and component selection
  • Experience compiling Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Strong technical and problem-solving ability
  • Good communication and client interaction skills
  • Must reside within a reasonable distance of Robertsham / Johannesburg South
