Position Overview: The RF Design Engineer is responsible for supporting the Senior Principal Electrical Engineer for the development, design, and manufacturing support of microwave passive devices, including isolators, circulators, filters and amplifiers primarily for applications in aerospace and defense.

The employer is a fast-growing specialist in ceramic and ferrite-based RF components making a significant investment in growing their design team. The RF Design Engineer will be a key player in expanding the capabilities of the firm to develop new technologies for aerospace and defense clients on the cutting edge of advanced materials-based RF components. There is significant room to grow in the role and in the company.

Job Functions:
• Design and develop microwave passive devices (1–40 GHz).
• Use simulation tools and conduct tests to analyze and refine designs.
• Choose components based on specifications and reliability; assess vendor capabilities.
• Support development from concept to production; assist manufacturing in resolving issues.
• Provide technical support and proposals for customers and new product designs.
• Support projects from concept to launch in preparing technical documents and presentations.

Qualifications (only the ones meeting all the requirements will be contacted):
• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Preferred Experience and knowledge: RF/microwave hardware development with advanced materials such as ceramics and ferrites. Experience in coaxial, drop-in, and waveguide and/or microstrip design and manufacturing process technology is a string advantage.
• Skills: Ability to apply microwave theory in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of passive microwave devices.
• Security: Hold a US DoD security clearance or be fully able to apply for it.

• Location: Candidates need to be located within commuting distance of the production facility in Maryland or willing to relocate.
