Role Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to lead electrical design efforts across various building types and coordinate directly with internal and external teams.
Project Leadership Responsibilities:
Lead electrical discipline design teams from Schematic Design (SD) to Construction Document (CD) phases.
Coordinate power, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding design with MEP/FP, architectural, and structural teams.
Manage discipline-specific schedule, scope, and manpower planning.
Support Project Managers with technical oversight and delivery strategy.
Technical Engineering Responsibilities:
Execute and review complex electrical system designs.
Apply NEC, IBC, IECC/ASHRAE, and other relevant codes.
Design and coordinate utility service entrance, ductbanks, transformer sizing, etc.
Develop one-line diagrams, device layouts, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems.
Conduct fault current studies, arc flash analysis, and load calculations.
Respond to RFIs, conduct field visits, and support revisions and bulletins.
Review electrical specifications using CSI Masterformat and evaluate value engineering impacts.
Must-Have Qualifications:
3β5 years relevant commercial MEP experience.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (IL and/or AZ).
Strong Revit production competency.
Experience with load-calculations and one-line design.
Client-facing experience and strong communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
Experience in airport, hospitality, or higher-education projects.
Lighting-control design experience.
LEED AP certification.
Familiarity with PLC/BAS (Programmable Logic Controllers / Building Automation Systems).
