Job Responsibilities
• Convert 2D drawings of complex, highly configurable control panels to 3D Models that can be used to sustain current designs and future product enhancements
• Panels may include motor starter protectors, wiring for controls and power, circuit breakers, display panels, logic panels and more. Each panel can control 2-6 refrigeration compressors that handle 50-100 tons of cooling
• This position is critical to ensuring new components are compatible (fit, form, and function) and electrically sized correctly with existing designs) with existing designs
• These are complex systems with lots of customizable features and lots of associated part numbers. This will also impact the department’s ability to keep and update Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Interface with cross-functional teams in the manufacturing, electrical engineering, and chiller teams to ensure new design changes are considered
Desired Skills And Abilities
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Field
• Understanding of electrical components and systems
• Experience designing panels with an understanding of UL and NEC rules for electrical panels
• New product design and layout as well as sustaining engineering of existing products via ECNs (engineering change notices)
• Experience with a 3D Design tool such as Creo or Solidworks
• Creo is preferred
• PTC Windchill is preferred
• Exposure to sheet-metal design is nice to have
• Exposure to the HVAC domain is nice to have
