Purpose of Position: This position leads, and oversees the Electrical Engineering team in the design, development, testing, integration, support, and sustainment of electrical systems, PCBAs, and related products. This role provides technical leadership, manages engineering resources, drives continuous improvement, and ensures high‑quality deliverables that support new product development, production, quality, and business objectives.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Manage electrical engineering resources, project assignments, and schedules to ensure successful execution of deliverables and alignment with business priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Electrical Engineering team, through coaching, performance management, and technical guidance.
- Oversee electrical system architecture, PCBAs, wiring systems, and power/communication interfaces for new and existing products.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to ensure successful product development and production support.
- Establish and maintain engineering procedures, best known methods (BKMs), standards, design reviews, and engineering checklists.
- Support new product development activities from concept through prototype, testing, release, and sustaining engineering.
- Review and approve electrical designs, test plans, validation activities, and engineering changes.
- Ensure accuracy and properly maintenance of engineering documentation, schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, revision control, and release packages.
- Oversee PCBA configuration management, component lifecycle management, and approved alternate component strategies.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to identify long lead electrical components and mitigate supply risks.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to electrical design, manufacturing issues, and field failures.
- Support incoming inspection and manufacturing test strategy development for PCBAs and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry, customer, quality, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Participate in strategic planning, staffing, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering organization.
- Provide technical expertise related to gimbal systems, electrical architectures, system power requirements, communication structures, FPGA, and embedded hardware systems.
- Support audits, customer reviews, and engineering documentation requests as required.

Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other related engineering discipline.
- 7 years' experience in electrical engineering and new product development.
- 3 years' experience in engineering leadership with people management.
- Experience supporting complex electro-mechanical systems, PCBAs, and embedded hardware, preferred.
- Experience in the camera, imaging, gimbal, and/or UAS industry, preferred
