We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer (Light Current) to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of light current electrical systems and related control/instrumentation equipment. The role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop light current electrical systems
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and fault-finding
  • Ensure compliance with SANS, IEC, and safety regulations
  • Manage project timelines and technical documentation
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, and project teams
  • Support the maintenance and optimisation of electrical systems
  • Assist with control and instrumentation integration
  • Conduct site inspections and technical evaluations

Minimum Requirements:
  • BEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
  • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) advantageous
  • Minimum 3–5 years' relevant experience
  • Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, and automation systems advantageous
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
  • Strong understanding of electrical standards and regulations
  • Valid driver’s licence
