An energy infrastructure company needs a hands-on Electrical Engineer III to design and support power distribution systems for critical infrastructure like pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. This role blends real technical depth with project leadership.
What You'll Own
- Design, implement, and optimize electrical systems and power distribution networks for critical infrastructure
- Produce one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, system layouts, and load calculations
- Review contractor engineering deliverables and drawings for compliance with design specifications
- Support procurement of electrical equipment and materials, drawing on trusted vendor relationships
- Participate in commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment
- Apply safety measures such as arc flash mitigation and fault detection, and ensure code and regulatory compliance
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (or an ABET Engineering Technology degree plus an active P.E. and 4 years of relevant experience)
- 10 years of hands-on electrical / power systems engineering for critical infrastructure
- Power system design, analysis, and simulation with ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink, or similar
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage equipment: transformers, generators, and switchgear
- Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE)
Nice to Have
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Midstream oil & gas experience (pipelines, compressor stations, storage)
- Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC project experience on small to medium facility projects
- Grid integration and renewable energy exposure
