Overview:

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities:
• Support all phases of the system lifecycle, from concept to retirement
• Root cause analysis of system/component issues and/or failure
• Researching and reviewing ship’s structural and electrical drawings to support system integration
• 2D and 3D modeling design and drafting of mechanical and electrical assemblies
• Prototyping
• Inspection and acceptance of material received from procurement or fabrication
• Factory acceptance testing
• Support all aspects of technical data package (TDP) development (i.e., Temporary Alterations = TEMPALT)
• Draft forwarding letters and process flow checklists
• Ship check and fit check of submarines
• Support all aspects of system testing and documentation, including but not limited to:
• electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
• hydrostatic testing (10 cycle)
• cybersecurity/information assurance
• Support fleet troubleshooting efforts
• Support the creation of departures from specification (DFS)
• Engage with traditional and Agile project management processes and systems engineering processes
• Identify and remove obstacles in the workflow
• Support with presentations and briefs to stakeholders

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
• 3 years of experience on multi-disciplinary teams supporting Submarine system development, system integration, and alteration package development.
• Have an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering related to submarine system development, system integration, or alteration development.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Linux, C/C++

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
