Introduction

This client is a leading infrastructure contractor specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of energy, telecommunications, and building services networks. Services include high-voltage infrastructure, cable installations, trenchless drilling, fiber network deployment, utility connections, and building mechanical and electrical systems.

 

The project involves the replacement of aging transformers and expansion of a high-voltage substation. Works include the installation of new transformers, reactors, underground and overhead power connections, civil infrastructure, structural steel, cable installations, control buildings, electrical panels, and supporting infrastructure. Design and construction activities are executed concurrently to meet project timelines and enable rapid implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of high-voltage substation primary systems, including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, cable connections, and supporting structures.
• Manage and coordinate internal and external engineering teams from concept design through project execution.
• Develop, review, and verify technical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, conduct quality reviews, and support project delivery throughout all phases.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in a similar engineering role.
• Proficient in L-CAD, EPLAN, or similar engineering design software.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and substation infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of power systems and electrical network design.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a project-driven environment.
