Summary
The Electrical Engineer I is an entry level engineer who is responsible for multiple lower-level projects or a single large project that support the business through designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment and systems. This position develops and implements control logic programs, schematics and panel designs through a variety of software programs with the oversight of a Lead or Electrical Engineer II. The Electrical Engineer I is also responsible for validating the electrical design for reliability, performance, and safety standards.
Essential Job Functions
• Electrical design activities to support the product line.
• PLC/PAC/OIT troubleshooting activities.
• Instrument configuration and programming as required to complete projects.
• Assist electrical team in conduit routing and installation details as required to complete department projects.
• Documentation activities to support the business needs which may include development of various operating instruction or manuals.
• Electrical, mechanical, and process installation and troubleshooting of simple projects to support the business. This may include the use of hand tools, gauges, multi-meters, and other measurement devices.
• Collaboration with customers as required to promote successful project execution, including but not limited to discussion with customer engineers and FAT Protocol execution.
• Quotation development to support sales and marketing activities.
• Technical collaboration with other professional disciplines to support the business. Ensures lessons learned applied to future effort.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Additional
• Minimal, occasional travel.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for travel.
• Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Knowledge and familiarity with 3 phase power applications, distribution and use. Knowledge and familiarity with the development and implementation of automated control systems. Knowledge and familiarity with solid state electronic component application.
• Knowledge and familiarity with using P&ID’s to design process control systems. Experience with integration of wide range of process analytical equipment.
• Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design, AutoCad preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in a service orientated environment with troubleshooting capabilities. Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a mechanical aptitude that allows for effective communication of the product to our customers.
Education And Experience
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronic Engineering required.
• 1 - 3 years of experience preferred.
• Technical experience in these fields may be acceptable in lieu of the degree.
