Electrical Engineer – Industrial Environment (Power Systems)
Overview
The Electrical Engineer supports the design, maintenance, and reliability of power distribution systems within a heavy industrial environment. This role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation of low and medium voltage electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and troubleshoot low and medium voltage power distribution systems
- Support and maintain electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and protective relays
- Perform arc flash studies and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards
- Lead or support power system upgrades, expansions, and capital projects
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve electrical issues and reduce downtime
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with industrial power systems (low and medium voltage)
- Familiarity with switchgear, protective relaying, and power distribution equipment
- Knowledge of arc flash analysis and electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E)
- Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments preferred
