You will serve as a professional Electrical Engineer, performing operations and maintenance (O&M) engineering duties in support of a military installation.
Performs O&M engineering involving design and construction that encompasses the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of infrastructure facilities, including utility systems, utilizing professional knowledge of electrical engineering.
Plans, programs, budgets, and executes required projects in support of assigned programs.
Performs planning and design work for substantial sustainment, modernization, repair, improvement, renovations and construction projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain & maintain a Secret Security clearance.
• Education requirements: A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution is required. TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE INCLUDED.
• Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
• Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations; of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures as it relates to facilities engineering; knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues; of work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.
• Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions; and knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems and management.
• Knowledge of aesthetic and functional design techniques and skill in preparing project documentation, to include preliminary drawings, sketches, and construction drawings; and technique / skill in drafting sufficient to convey design concepts and ideas and formulate working drawings.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• An appropriate, valid driver’s license may be required for the position.
• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
• This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
• May act as project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies as required.
• May be required to serve on A&E selection boards.
• The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. The selectee will have up to 24 months to meet the applicable mandatory experience, education, and training requirements.
