Design Engineer in Semiconductor Industry

QuantumBricks
Full-time
On-site
Key Responsibilities
• Semiconductor Circuit Design: Design, simulate, and verify analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuits (depending on role specialization) for semiconductor components such as integrated circuits (ICs), transistors, and microprocessors.
• Chip Architecture Development: Collaborate in the creation of chip architectures and floor plans. Develop block diagrams and layout planning for new designs.
• Simulation and Modeling: Perform simulations using industry-standard tools (such as SPICE, Cadence, Synopsys) to model circuit behavior and optimize design performance, power efficiency, and area constraints.
• Prototyping and Testing: Work closely with the testing team to build prototypes and run tests. Analyze test results to identify design improvements or modifications.
• Design Verification: Conduct thorough design verification processes (including functional and timing verification) to ensure compliance with specifications and performance criteria.
• Design Documentation: Maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, test plans, and design methodologies to support future revisions and customer needs.
• Collaboration: Work with process engineers, layout engineers, and production teams to ensure the design is manufacturable within industry tolerances and requirements.
• Product Lifecycle Support: Participate in all phases of product development, from concept and initial design through to mass production and post-release optimization.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in analog/digital/mixed-signal circuit design.
• Proficiency with EDA tools like Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, or similar.
• Familiarity with VLSI design methodologies, DFT (Design for Test), and DFY (Design for Yield).
• Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as HSPICE, Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
• Understanding of semiconductor device physics, process technology, and chip manufacturing flows.
