Design Hire is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support power generation projects involving electrical system design, analysis, and project execution. This role is ideal for an engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience who has a strong foundation in power generation and is looking to take on greater technical responsibility while working with a collaborative engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for power generation, utility, or industrial facility projects.
  • Prepare electrical calculations, one-line diagrams, protection schemes, equipment layouts, specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, controls, and project teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
  • Support equipment selection, technical evaluations, vendor coordination, and construction documentation.
  • Provide engineering support during project execution, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 4 to 6 years of electrical engineering experience supporting power generation, utility, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Experience with medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, power distribution, substations, switchgear, transformers, generators, or related power equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical system studies, protection, grounding, and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Experience preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with electrical analysis and design software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary engineering teams.
