Job Description:

L3Harris in San Diego, CA is seeking a knowledgeable Power Supply Design Engineer with extensive experience in analog circuit design, particularly focusing on DC-DC Switched Mode power supply design for Telemetry and RF products. This role involves proficiency in designing Flyback and Feed Forward DC-DC converters.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of detailed design and development of Power Supplies for RF and microwave assemblies, including system power distribution and module level design, schematic capture, derating, and Worst-Case Analysis (WCA).
• Establish EMI/EMC requirements and implement strategies to ensure compliance.
• Create and present engineering design concepts and data results for technical reviews.
• Prepare task schedules and budgets for programs, proposals, and internal research and development efforts.
• Participate in internal peer design reviews, conduct design verification testing, and oversee the transition to production.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 9 years of Power Supply design experience; or a Master's degree with at least 7 years of experience. Alternatively, 13 years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• 4+ years developing isolated and non-isolated Buck, Boost, Forward, Flyback, half Bridge, or Full Bridge Converters.
• 4+ years of experience troubleshooting subassemblies to the component level.
• Expertise in developing test procedures and performing design verification testing for various stability factors.
• 4+ years of experience in EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) design and testing.

Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience in the aerospace industry.
• Knowledge of transmitter and receiver architecture and design.
• Familiarity with simulation tools such as PSPICE, INTERSIL ISIN, LTSPICE, OrCAD, PADs.
• Understanding of EMI/EMC requirements and implementation techniques.
• Experience addressing the challenges of designing space-qualified hardware.
• Ability to work independently on design and project goals with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts effectively.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

The salary range for this role is $150,000.00 - $278,000.00, depending on experience and location.
