Hughes Circuits, Inc. is looking to fill a Senior PCB Designer position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Able to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics.
• Create detailed electrical/mechanical layouts with the use of schematics and guidance from engineers.
• Work directly with designers and engineers to prepare drawings from conceptual design to final product documentations.
• Maintain engineering documentation files and incorporate engineering change notices.
• Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Maintain CAD library, including symbol, footprint generation, and database administration.
• Establish PCB design standards, procedures, and guidelines, and assist with file maintenance and configuration control.
• Determine optimal multi-layer stackup, component placement, floor plan and routing feasibility studies.
• Create and release documentation for PCB fabrication per company guidelines including but not limited to BOM, Gerbers/OBD++, pick and place, test point report, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Route digital, analog, mixed signal and power functions as per best industry practice.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering group in PCB design reviews.
Must have broad experience in at least one of the following tools:
Altium, Cadence Allegro/Orcad, Mentor PADS, PADS Professional and Mentor Xpedition ECAD tools.
Education/Experience:
Requires a minimum of six years of experience in the field of PCB Design preferably with an (A.A.) Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a related field of study.
