Job objective: The Senior Electrical Engineering Manager will lead a multidiscipline team of electrical engineers in designing power electronics, digital circuits, and printed circuit boards for high-power microwave systems and advanced electronics applications. Reporting to the Director of Electrical Engineering, the Electrical Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the EE and PCB design process, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of hardware designs throughout the lifecycle.

 

Duties:

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, providing technical guidance, feedback, and support in the design, testing, and integration of electronic hardware, as well as performing all duties expected of a people manager at Epirus.
  • Collaborate with RF, Mechanical, and Systems engineering teams to integrate electrical designs into overall system architecture and ensure compatibility with project requirements.
  • Own the electrical, PCB, and Power Electronics design processes for high-power microwave systems and advanced electronics.
  • Plan and prioritize Electrical, PCB, and Power Electronics engineering tasks, allocate resources effectively, and manage project timelines to meet delivery milestones.
  • Work with Engineering and Value Management leadership to develop an ongoing EE technology roadmap that aligns with and enables future Epirus products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize EE, PCB, and Power Electronics design processes, enhance product performance, and reduce development cycle times.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed to support hardware development and testing activities.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews, providing technical insights and recommendations to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.
  • Maintain compliance with security clearance requirements, including obtaining and maintaining an active SECRET clearance for DoD contracts.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Electrical engineering, with demonstrated expertise in power electronics, digital circuit design, and/or PCB design and layout.
  • Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, electromagnetic theory, and power electronics engineering concepts.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing engineering teams and driving project execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for hardware design, testing, and validation.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a high-power microwave systems or power electronics industry.
  • Familiarity with measurement techniques and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Previous experience with electrical/power electronics design in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electronics design issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities and stay current with advancements in electrical and power electronics technology and engineering methodologies.

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. 
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$213,000$259,500 USD
