DescriptionThe Senior Engineer role will include design of Electrical and ICT systems not limited to Lighting, Power, Earthing, Lightning protection, Power distribution, Containment, load calculation, sizing of electrical panel & selection of capital equipment, Fire alarm system, public address system. The role holder must take a ‘hands on’ approach to all aspects of the role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare feasibility study reports in the agreed format and review with the Team.
- Collaborate with WSP India team to develop design specifications aligned with employer requirements; monitor progress and ensure timely delivery.
- Define and monitor project scope.
- Execute detailed designs in compliance with HK/India regulations, codes of practice, and CDM requirements, including complex calculations and coordination.
- Review and validate design calculations, ensuring QA and technical sign-off.
- Provide accurate information for project costing and keep stakeholders informed of design progress.
- Coordinate project documentation (drawings, specifications) and review team inputs.
- Address client queries promptly and ensure timely delivery of construction-related information.
- Manage project commissions using appropriate project management tools.
- Lead the design process, promoting cost-effective and innovative solutions.
- Ensure adherence to document control, archiving, CDM, and QA processes, coach junior staff on best practices.
Technical & Project Management
- Drive technical excellence and raise competency benchmarks within the team.
- Implement quality measurement and delivery processes.
- Conduct technical reviews and contribute to concept design development.
- Provide feedback to TL for continuous improvement of protocols and processes.
- Build strong client relationships through transparent communication.
- Participate in team meetings and share information across teams.
- Identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with commercial and contractual processes.
- Monitor delegated tasks, flag resource concerns, and identify additional fee opportunities.
- Complete timesheets accurately and on time.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.

Mandatory skills
- Expertise in ELECTRICAL and ELV systems concept design, Space planning.
- Preparation of IFC drawings, schedules, datasheets, schematics, and P&ID.
- Strong knowledge of BS, HK and ME codes.
- Electrical load calculations and preparation of technical submittals.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; Revit MEP, Navis works experience highly desirable.
- Ability to conduct detailed design, calculations, and drawings.
- Regular design reviews and adherence to specifications and tender conditions.
- Evaluate quotations, implement cost-saving measures, and maintain design documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and other agencies; knowledge of electrical and PHE services for design integration.
- Strong presentation skills.

Qualifications
- The candidate should be a Master / Graduate electrical engineer with minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Having professional certification from Ceng/Ieng will be an added advantage.
