If you are an electronics specialist who is tired of being trapped in a repetitive, assembly-line manufacturing environment or siloed at a rigid corporate conglomerate, this advanced engineering support seat offers your ultimate career pivot. Our client is a highly secure, heavily capitalized aerospace and national defense partner specializing in high-reliability electronic systems for mission-critical applications. Because they operate as a lean, agile engineering hub with over a decade of consistent year-over-year expansion, your day-to-day contributions are deeply impactful, highly visible, and completely free of multi-layered corporate bureaucracy.

This is an anti-monotony destination designed for a tactile troubleshooter who takes extreme pride in precision. Serving as the primary right hand to a talented hardware design engineering group, you will rotate across evolving programs and work across the entire lifecycle of highly engineered systems. You will regularly transform raw concepts into functioning physical prototypes, diagnose complex board failures under advanced laboratory test conditions, and ensure the highest standards of production readiness. It is the perfect playground to expand your technical intellect alongside top-tier industry minds.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Populate and assemble complex multi-layer PCBs across prototype development phases and specialized, low-volume production programs to strict quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical assemblies and wiring harnesses independently, utilizing advanced diagnostic logic to locate root-cause failures and support ongoing engineering evaluations.
  • Partner with design engineering to manage initial board bring-up, execute functional bench-level testing, and support smooth manufacturing line transition activities.
  • Assist with component sourcing and Bill of Materials (BOM) coordination while actively managing the calibration and maintenance of precision lab equipment.
  • Prepare technical lab documentation including draft assembly drawings, validation test reports, and structural data collection.
  • Support quality assurance protocols in strict alignment with highly regulated high-reliability aerospace, defense, and ruggedized-product standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Distinguished bench background with proven, hands-on experience working as an electronics technician or engineering technologist. An Associate degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology is standard; however, 6+ years of master technician bench depth will be proudly welcomed in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Soldering and rework mastery showing high proficiency in PCB population, modification, and fine-pitch components.
  • Flawless schematic fluency with the absolute ability to fluidly read, interpret, and trace complex electrical schematics, component sheets, and wiring layouts.
  • Independent diagnostic instincts with extensive experience utilizing oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and bench power supplies to isolate component-level faults.
  • Self-directed work ethic with the proactive organization needed to manage workbench priorities independently and adapt quickly to shifting project timelines.

Preferred Technical Assets (Not Required)

  • Prior exposure supporting an AS9100D, defense-adjacent, or closely related high-reliability quality management environment.
  • Familiarity with power supply design concepts, layout principles, or custom electro-optical architectures.
  • Basic exposure to 3D modeling platforms (such as SolidWorks) or circuit simulation software tools.
