Mission Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development and integration of advanced electrical systems in cutting-edge vehicles. This role involves overseeing all power and signal distribution, wiring harness design, collaborating cross-functionally, and driving the development of innovative solutions to ensure the success of our vehicle programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead Electrical Engineering function specializing in vehicle Power and Signal Distribution and wiring harness development.

System Development and Integration:

    • Drive the design, development, and integration of vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, power distribution, communication networks, and control systems.
    • Ensure wiring harness designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
    • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering and Vehicle Technical Team to route and secure harnesses in vehicle assemblies.

Wiring Harness Design:

    • Oversee the design and validation of complex wiring harness systems, including connector selection, circuit protection, and pinout configurations.
    • Ensure harness layouts are optimized for weight, cost, and assembly efficiency.
    • Define and implement standards for wire sizing, insulation, and bundling to meet regulatory and operational demands.

Program Management:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, components and manufacturing) to align power system, electrical and wiring harness development with overall vehicle program goals.
    • Define project milestones, schedules, and budgets while ensuring timely delivery.

Technical Expertise:

    • Provide technical direction for electrical system design, prototyping, wiring harness routing, and validation.
    • Troubleshoot complex issues in electrical systems and propose innovative solutions.

Supplier and Manufacturing Management:

    • Interface with suppliers to specify, source, and validate electrical components and wiring harness assemblies.
    • Work with vehicle tech teams to ensure wiring harness assembly processes are efficient and meet quality standards.

Continuous Improvement:

    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the team.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in vehicle electrical systems and wiring harness development, including.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in automotive electrical architectures, CAN/LIN protocols, and high-voltage systems.
  • Experience with wiring harness design tools such as CATIA or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of wire sizing, circuit protection, routing, and harness assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with vehicle integration and validation processes (DFMEA, DV/PV testing).
  • Understanding of printed circuit board (PCB) design, layout, and integration principles.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous systems, or ADAS development.
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for wiring harnesses, including FMVSS and SAE standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical and wiring standards such as ISO 6722, J1939, J2178, and other relevant SAE J standards.
