Clientmind Recruiting is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer for an advanced technology firm in the Greenbelt area. This role is responsible for leading development on next-generation embedded systems and sensor-driven hardware platforms.
This position will be onsite 3x per week in Greenbelt, MD. Must be clearable and an active clearance is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead design and validation of complex embedded electronics, including high-density multilayer PCBs with microcontrollers, sensors, analog interfaces, and power management circuitry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define system-level electrical and firmware requirements.
• Develop embedded firmware targeting ARM microcontrollers and application processors.
• Architect and prototype advanced hardware systems with an emphasis on low-power and RF components
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in design reviews and planning.
• Perform system integration testing and troubleshoot complex hardware and embedded issues.
• Select and evaluate electrical components to meet performance, reliability, and cost objectives.
• Prepare technical documentation, including system design specifications and test plans.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety protocols, and internal quality controls.
• Support process improvements to enhance reliability, scalability, and time-to-market.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 8–10 years of professional experience in electrical hardware design, with a strong embedded systems background.
• Strong knowledge of circuit design and debugging practices for mixed-signal systems.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and low-level hardware integration.
• Experience working with motion-tracking or sensor-driven systems
• Skilled in use of test and measurement tools
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Must be eligible for a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Experience:
• Exposure to FPGA development.
• Experience with low-power design techniques.
• Familiarity with communications systems or software-defined radio (SDR).
• Background in RTOS or tightly integrated hardware/software systems.
