My client, a leading employee-owned architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer to join their team in Alexandria, VA. This is a full-time opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary design projects, focusing on electrical power, communications, and lighting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design electrical and lighting systems, preparing plans and specifications.
• Lead programming, schematic design, and construction documentation.
• Conduct electrical system planning, load analysis, and lighting calculations.
• Perform electrical studies, including short circuit and coordination analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams, utility representatives, consultants, and clients.
• Conduct site visits and construction observations, preparing reports and punch lists.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project quality control measures.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
• Registered Professional Engineer (or EIT exam-ready candidates considered).
• 5-10+ years of electrical design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit BIM, SKM Powertools, AGi32, or equivalent software.
• Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 101, ASHRAE 90.1, and IECC.
• Prior experience with federal projects and Unified Facilities Criteria preferred.
• LEED AP or CEM certification is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
• Must pass my client's security clearance review and Federal Government base access requirements.
• Ability to travel for site visits as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
