Your role, your entry point at AFRY

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our collaborative expert team. You will work on diverse and demanding projects using the latest design tools to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions.

In close collaboration with your team from Finland, you’ll play a key role in problem-solving and project success. As a Senior Engineer, you will also support and mentor junior designers—sharing your expertise and contributing to the team’s growth.

As part of our existing team, we expect you to develop your Finnish language skills to a level that enables you to produce design documentation in Finnish.

About the team in Finland

We are a locally focused global operator, and our extensive resources enable us to deliver design under demanding schedules in both small and large projects.

Our range of services covers all Electrical engineering services for both new-build and renovation projects at every stage of the project.

Your key responsibilities

• Guide and support junior designers through mentoring, technical coaching, and design reviews
• Perform and support 3D modeling as part of the design and coordination process
• Review and validate calculations, drawings, and models to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Coordinate and review the design and deliverables towards local finnish client and contractor demands
• Ensure designs meet applicable regulations, standards, and client requirements
• Take responsibility for the quality of designs and deliverables
• Ability to coordinate and drive issues to the end by proactive communication with other engineers

We expect that you have

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
• Fluent in English
• Over 10 years of experience in Electrical design
• Proficient use of MagiCad, Navisworks and AutoCAD
• At least 3 years of experience working on projects in the Nordic countries
• Experience working on projects in Finland
• Experience in project management
• Strong experience in a Project Manager role
• Proven track record with reference projects in industrial, residential and public buildings
• Ability to work independently
• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
• Ability to monitor and continuously improve quality
• Ability to apply local country-specific quality requirements in daily work

We appreciate if you have

• Experience in a supervisory or line management role
• Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (EU)
• Finnish language skills
