PURPOSE
Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Engineer will be an integral member of the engineering team for execution of Projects within the EPC business unit.
The purpose of this role is to provide technical advice relating to matters of electrical design including preparation of design and detailed output documents from specifications / concepts / no specifications and or on-site surveys / sketches as well as transmitting / receiving information for technical interfaces on turnkey projects.
The role includes co-ordinating estimates for tender preparation, representing Clarke Energy during tender negotiations, and meeting company objectives of profitability.
To formulate and drive a consistent approach towards all engineering activities within Clarke Energy, ultimately ensuring that value for money is maximised and cost savings are generated.
A professional and accountable approach is required at all times.

TECHNICAL
Responsible for the design of electrical systems and procurement of materials and equipment to complete project, from concept through design, construction, commissioning and final handover under the supervision of Principal Electrical Engineer.
Assist and communicate with electrical project design team including other engineers and draftspersons to carry out design and project works to meet all project objectives.
Responsible for the detail design of all electrical systems and sub-systems. Provide design support to engineering manager for tenders.
Responsible for the coordination of consulting engineers to carry out studies.
Prepare design work to meet engineering specifications and comply with relevant statutory, OHSW and environmental requirements.
Liaise with client to establish and clarify project objectives and ensure these are communicated with project team.
Coordinate or carry out basic estimates for engineering work as required to achieve levels of profitability.
Liaise with suppliers in the specification, evaluation, selection and progressing of subcontract supplied equipment.
Provide progress reports as required including description of work completed, work outstanding and amended design program.
Perform commissioning and testing of installed equipment.
Assist Business Unit Manager in sourcing of new clients and identifying new business initiatives. Assist in recruitment and development of suitably qualified design staff.
Other duties as assigned, including pre-commissioning involvement and input to operation and maintenance manuals.
To support the business in its endeavours to monitor suppliers performance in line with Key Result Areas (KRA’s), and contractual obligations.
To provide active benchmarking data and analysis to ensure the company achieves continued value, creativity, flexibility and sustainability across construction activities.
To design appropriate reporting and monitoring mechanisms that clearly highlight savings. Execute responsibilities in a safe and non-discriminatory manner as defined in Clarke Energy
Understand and continually demonstrate compliance with Clarke Energy compliance rules and Group policies as determined from time to time.
Carry out factory inspections of equipment and attend factory acceptance testing when required.
